Bring the Rain
by Mercy Me
I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Is the Lord God Almighty

I can't tell you how many times I sang that song,or cried through listening to it, while Mark was laid off. And, even now... it is just as meaningful as it was then. Have you heard the song "Your Hands" (should that be underlined) by JJ Heller? It is a good one, too.
Definitely a favorite in the Baker house :) Love you and your heart that longs to glorify God.
Yes... yes. This song is an important one. It makes me think about your last post, one that I have dwelt on for this past week.
Jesus--He too--questioned his Father, our Father. Through our struggles and pain we should feel closer to our Lord and Savior, because he went through more pain than we can imagine here on Earth. And even though His best friends grew weary and fell asleep, His Father never left Him, just as He never, ever will leave our side. He truly does catch every tear, and that is such a comforting thought.
Katie, I love you. And in our times of sorrow, it truly is songs like these that keep me sane and keep me close to our Lord. Thank you for this song.
